Dr. Bridger celebrates the inner-beauty of every patient and demonstrates a continuing commitment to the most advanced implant and cosmetic dentistry techniques. He offers his patients personalized care, honesty, and an unwavering attention to detail.
There are two phases to implant dentistry in our office:
Phase 1: Using very accurate surgical techniques, an incision is made in the gum tissues and implants are placed into dimensionally controlled sites (depth and width) in the jawbone. First the gum tissue is opened and the jaw bone is tapped with a small drill and then drilled with a wider drill. The implant is inserted into place. The gum tissues are then closed and the healing phase begins. This may take anywhere from 3-6 months to ensure a strong base.
Phase 2: An abutment is secured to the top of the implant. A new tooth implant crown is placed onto the abutment. Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth or your dentures.
Implant, Abutment & Crown
Dr. Bridger may recommend a single tooth implant procedure if a tooth has been extracted or is missing. A titanium implant base is placed into the jawbone to resemble the root. We allow a period of time for the jawbone to heal over the tooth implant base before fitting for a crown. Next an abutment is screwed into the base of the tooth implant to allow for a crown to be fitted on top. Finally a custom fabricated crown is placed over the tooth implant abutment to function like a real tooth.
At West Houston Dental Center, we also offer All-On-4 Implants. The All-On-4 teeth implant procedure utilizes four angled dental implants in a jaw to attach your new set of permanent replacement teeth to your bone. Using a CT scan of your jaw and three dimensional computer imaging technology, the exact placement of the implants are planned before your appointment. A precise surgical guide is created, and the implants are placed in a precise position for optimum esthetics and function. Our All-On-4 technique delivers the maximum results in the shortest time with minimal discomfort and for an acceptable fee.
